Alternative Use of Stone Waste

Curva

10 Dec

Mint Street in London was covered by Portuguese marble waste from an Alentejo quarry. An urban intervention made by the Cypriot designer Michael Anastassiades, which opened in October 2018. Mint Street is the result of a partnership between the First Stone program and the London Design Festival. The project was also made possible through the support of the Arts Council England and Turismo de Portugal.

Similarly to what was done in that project, I invite all visitors to this page to develop street and pavement decoration projects, based on the waste of our limestone, which in addition to creating extraordinary visual effects alternative to the typical Portuguese sidewalk, represent a relatively low acquisition cost.
