"Tapete de Pedra"- The Portuguese sidewalk seen by American people

"In Lisbon, a stone carpet under your feet." It was with this title that The New York Times published an article earlier this month devoted to the Portuguese sidewalk, focusing on its history, its artistic value and, particularly, focusing on the cobbler workers, including their collaborations with new artists.
The article, signed by the journalist Kathleen Beckett, ends with the statues that pay tribute to the cobbler workers and are placed in the Restauradores place, also remembering a Portuguese-American curiosity: "In the USA there are some examples [of Portuguese sidewalk], being most notably the memorial to John Lennon in New York's Central Park. It reades "Imagine".
